Tsakaling Chojee was established by Lama Tenzin, a spiritual figure of the Yonphu Chojee started by Lama Jampel Norbu. While Lama Jampel was said to have practiced Peling tradition, it was not clearly known of his blood lineage according to Dasho Lama Sangnga. While it is said that the Kurtoed Lugchu Chojee's hand written Kathang's catalog has stated as Lineage of Pema Lingpa, Chabje Dudjom Jigdrel Yeshey Dorji was said to have stated that Younphula Choejee is the lineage of Terton Ratna Lingpa. But there are also others who would say it was the Lineage of Dorling (I do not know what is the account of Yonphu's own). However, the oral accounts tell of a story where a Lama who came from Tibet practicing Chod established the lineage in Yonphula, which was the Lama Jampel Norbu.
The next Yonphula Chojey was Choewang Lhendup, followed by his son Yeshey Gyalpo who had two sons, Gawa and Tenzin. Younger Tenzin a highly realized spiritual figure established Taskaling as requested by two local rulers. As Lama Tenzin was looking for a place to establish his seat, his hat stuck on a thorn of a plant around this area which he took as an indication to establish his seat in the same area. The place gradually came to be known as Tsakaling, meaning the hat and the Taskaling Chojee was started from this establishment.
